    Description

For auction is a CD 297 [040] glass power insulator. It's
embossed weakly with FRED M. LOCKE VICTOR N.Y. over PAT'D MAY 22-94 NOV. 24 96 DEC 15-98 SEPT. 28 97 on the front skirt and OTHER PAT'S PENDING on the reverse. It's 4-1/4" high and 5-7/8" in diameter. This is the only CD 297 embossing number that has a neck that's narrower than the others. Photos will show the bubbles in the glass, the most prominent one crossing the bottom of the outer skirt and another intact but collapsed one at the bottom of the inner skirt. The outer skirt has lots of deep lines molded in. The color is aqua, a little less blue than what the photos show. The only flaw in the outer skirt is a ding on the perimeter edge. The middle skirt shows chipping in at least 10 locations around the bottom edge. The inner skirt has a 1/4" flake out of the inner
    surface.
For all the years I've had it I had always assumed that dull areas were from some scuffing or environmental etching of some form. But I recently discovered that most of it was some sort of thin but hard grime that I was able to scrape off with a knife edge at a shallow angle and return the glass underneath to its original shine. There might be a few spots remaining that could use additional (careful) cleaning.
    Miscellaneous notes:
I generally evaluate and describe each of my insulators very critically, unlike too many sellers who don't adequately describe the condition, have too few photos and use lots of hype. I don't want to be accused of trying to pass off something that it's not. My goal is for every buyer to feel that the insulator looks BETTER in their hand than in the photos.
Since last year when there were so many problems with USPS delivery times, I've chosen USPS Priority for shipping. The cost isn't too much more than Parcel Post and buyers have been happy with the fast deliveries.
I am confident in the quality and description of this item such that if you're not satisfied, you may return it for a full refund within 30 days. Payment is expected within 7 days of the sale. After that time I'll utilize eBay's Non-paying Buyer Assistant.
I want to do whatever is necessary to maintain my 100% feedback rating. If after the sale you have any issues with the transaction, PLEASE contact me first so that I may give you complete satisfaction.
